First of all, I feel like you all must know that, in my head, that was sung like Anna a la Disney’s Frozen. Second, the title of this post might be a bit misleading. I apologize. However, I do want to start a book club, just not one that follows the traditional format of the group reads a preselected book, the group discusses said book, a new book is chosen, and the cycle continues. No, I want to start a different kind of book club. But, maybe I should give a little background to my idea.
Hello everyone and welcome back for the third post in a series that I see no end for in sight, just to be honest. We are talking about my evening skincare routine during the winter! If you are new around here or have yet to read my morning routine, you can find it here. In it, I explain my skin type and go into extreme depth about the macro-steps of a skincare routine. I’m going to touch on the steps a little bit in this post, but go read my morning routine for more information on those topics. However, if you feel like you’ve tried every product known to man and your skin still seems to be having a fit, read this post where I talk about some other things that can cause skin issues.
For those of you reading this in the United States, it’s been a crazy week, to say the least. And I felt led to discuss what has been keeping me grounded in my faith, especially in wild times such as these.
When we last chatted, I said that my next blog post would be a skincare routine. Well, I’m a woman of my word, and here it is! I’m going to walk you through every product I use, why I use it, how much everything costs, where I bought it, and everything else I can think to include. I’m also going to send you to a great resource to help you determine your skin type if you don’t already know what it is or aren’t sure anymore.
Not literally, of course. But, as we are starting this new year, why not take an opportunity to talk about one of my favorite subjects: skincare.
Okay, so this is only the beginning of a litany of skincare related posts; I know it. I could talk about skincare for days, much to my family's chagrin (they could not care less about the topic), and often find myself in conversations with friends about it.
So, here we are. 2021 is upon us. Finally, it has arrived. I know some of you feel like a weight has been lifted, while others feel as though the world is still on your shoulders. However, sisters (and brothers), I come to you tonight with a relatively simple message that I am equally saying to myself as I’m saying it to you: fix your eyes on Jesus.
Alright, so I mentioned in my welcome post that I would be reposting my old posts from the original blog as I deemed appropriate. Well, we immediately have a fitting moment!
Hi everyone! To start this revamp/relaunch of my blog, why not just dive deep? Let’s talk about 2020.
Welcome to Blessed and Caffeinated! My name is Sarah Bierc, and I will be your tour guide this evening…I’m just kidding. But, genuinely, welcome to my revamped blog!
Latest Disney Posts
Hi Everyone! I wanted to officially start my posts in this section of the site by explaining why I’m qualified to give advice and write about and Disney World (which I’m sure many of you are curious to know). So, let’s get into my credentials if you will.
Welcome one and all to the inaugural post in the newly added “Disney” section to my blog. After much prayer and careful consideration, I decided to finally add this section to my website to share tips and tricks for navigating Walt Disney World, as well as ways to help make a trip for your family affordable, how to plan for a vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and most anything else I can think of sharing. Some of these posts will be solely my written thoughts, some will be in tandem with YouTube videos I create, and some will be links to my YouTube videos. But, nonetheless, the “Disney” tab on this website is designed to be your one-stop-shop for all things Disney advice and strolls down memory lane.

If you’re not new around here and have seen my recipe for sweet potato pie (the perfect sweet potato pie, in my opinion), then you know that words like “perfect” and “best” hold a lot of weight in my book. Those are not words that I just throw around, so when I claim that something is the best, in my humble opinion, it is the best. And that is what this chicken chili is.
Tres leches cake was first introduced to my family ten years ago when one of my cousins, who happens to be a chef, made it for Easter dessert. A few years later, still dreaming about that delicious cake, my mom and I stumbled upon this recipe in one of my cookbooks. It’s absolutely fabulous. It’s creamy and decadent and moist and just all the things you never knew you needed in cake form but will suddenly require after trying this. I’ve made it multiple times, and it’s unbelievably simple. Cut into square and serve at your next family gathering or grab a fork and start chowing down - no judgment here. And, if you end up trying this recipe and loving it, then you can thank one of my former college roommates, Jessica, for asking me to post this on here for you all.
Pronounced “gawumpkis,” this Polish comfort food has been the main course for most of my dad’s birthdays. My grandma would make them especially for him every year and, although the not-so-adventurous palette of a young Sarah was not the hugest fan, adult Sarah adores them and cannot wait to share them with you.
My dad’s mom, my Grandma Eleanor, makes the best chicken noodle soup. It is the perfect thing to have when you are feeling under the weather. But, it’s not your run of the mill chicken noodle soup. First, she adds crushed, whole tomatoes. They add a different flavor, obviously, but when you aren’t feeling well it is a welcomed hit of vitamin C. Also, she adds bay leaves. My grandmother loves bay leaves, she claims it is because she’s Polish and that was a staple in all of her mother’s cooking, but whatever the reason, bay leaves add something that is hard to identify but you know is missing when it’s not there.
My Great Aunt Ruth is well known in my family for quite a few recipes, but one of the most well-loved by most members of my family are her oatmeal cookies. They are lacy and caramelized and crunchy and TO DIE FOR! They are a staple in my family’s Christmas cookie repertoire and my absolute favorite oatmeal cookie.
Okay, so let me begin by saying that I don’t throw the word perfect around with food lightly. If I’m labeling something as such, it is truly perfect, in my opinion. Now that we have that out of the way let me tell you how I developed this recipe (something I don’t often do, but I’m dabbling in) and how to make, what I deem to be, the perfect sweet potato pie.
Hello Everyone!
I know I’ve been gone for a long while - life has gotten kinda crazy and keeping up with a posting schedule for this site was put on the back burner. However, I’m back for the moment and wanted to impart something that’s on my heart, as well as give y’all an idea of when I will be back to posting normally.
